Don’t you dare call us Islamophobes or Racist, Part 2
By Patrick Hall
The moral truth is, if a man stands behind his family and shoots at yours, and you return fire in self-defense, killing members of his family, then the moral culpability is his for putting them in danger in the first place. We need to stop pressuring Israel to value the enemy’s civilians more than their own, and speaking the truth about jihad is a good place to start. Daniel Pipes
Politically correctness or woke ethos has silenced dissent and suspended the basic survival instincts of many of us in the West. For example, despite reassurances from political leaders, we have no way of accurately vetting individuals, especially the millions of illegal immigrants that have crossed our borders since 2021. But the progressive elites of Germany and the greater EU, like the progressive elites here, who control much of the corporate and social media, as well as the schools, have squelched or flat-out censored individuals who disagree with their truncated if not suicidal worldview. Throughout the EU, the political class or polity in places like Berlin and Brussels have effectively used the charge of Nazism or European colonialism to bludgeon their citizenry into silence—citizens whose main apprehension is for the safety of their friends, family, and country.
We often hear from liberal apologists the familiar phrase that we are a nation of immigrants, and that is very true. Although the terms legal or illegal immigrants should be paramount in any discussion of individuals entering the country. Our immigration history and policies are laudable for the most part. But they are not a suicide pact! Like the 9/11 terrorists who employed our airplanes and technology against us. Laxed, if not a nonexistent border and illegal immigration continues to be a self-inflicted malady. It is a gaping invitation for Hamas and other Terrorists to come and kill us. Once more, you get the feeling from guilt-ridden and self-effacing Liberal Progressives that so long as you don’t call them Islamophobes or racists, the safety and survival of Western culture is optional. To paraphrase the “extraordinarily miseducated” creatures from the classes of the 1980s and '90s, our Ivy League Presidents, it can be contextualized. Whatever the hell that means!
It is a truism that nations must learn from their past. All nation-states have done things in their history that are regrettable. Whether that be slavery, the treatment of Native Americans, or the rise of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (Nazi Party) in the 1920 and 30’s. However, to use this history to silence the opposition against a genuine and deadly enemy is a dangerous charade. Basing domestic and international government policy on what one group of dead people has done to another group of dead people is inherently dangerous, if not the height of foolishness. The United States is not the country of the Pre-Civil Rights Era, nor is Germany or Europe dominated by various strains of fascism. Unfortunately, with the rise of what is popularly referred to as political correctness, “suicidal altruism” has made Western cultures politically, militarily, and morally impotent in addressing the threat posed by radical Islamic murderers.
“Nurturing Historical Guilt,” a subset of (Suicidal Altruism) is a PC-Woke driven pathology that is a favorite tool of cultural progressives both here and in Europe. The playing of the race and Islamophobic card by Progressives is designed neither to build understanding nor to nurture intercultural communication. It is first and foremost use is to shut people up. It is to make reasonable concerns about the survival of Western culture off-limits.
Ultimately, Muslims would not be invading or attacking America and the West except for the fact that Western societies are collapsing from a religious, moral, intellectual, and philosophical cancer of self-doubt, self-hatred, and self-loathing, buttressed by suicidal altruism.
As a former Progressive Liberal Democrat, now in my 44th year of sobriety, the infection or socio-political cancer of Mea Cupla Progressive Liberalism has been ubiquitous among Democrats here in America and their counterparts in the EU. People who, through training or whatever indoctrination they have received through schooling, political affiliations, or the media, have an intrinsic piss-and-vinegar view of their country and Western culture in general. It is the very definition or mindset of being “woke.” That is the propensity to view all cultural and societal problems through the lens of the oppressor over the oppressed. The current occupant of the White House, along with former President Barrack Obama, suffers from this abnormality. When we look at the support of Hamas and other Islamic murderers by many people, both here and in Europe, the abnormality or cultural deformity is widespread, if not endemic. In the loathing of our faults as a nation and Western culture, we ignore or downplay the genuine and murderous inclination emanating from the distorted catechesis of radical political Islam.
Nurturing historical guilt is a pathology—a dangerous gestation, leaving Western cultures extremely vulnerable. If we are to confront terrorism effectively, the political class must be willing and able to profile those individuals and groups who author much of the violence and chaos. Liberal Progressives (again, mostly Democrats) will scream racial profiling and Islamophobia when what they are dissenting against is essential to common-sense law enforcement or national security.
To interject the popularity of Donald Trump, whether you agree with all that he says (and I know he can be an insufferable jerk at times),1 is because he states the obvious on issues like illegal immigration and the attack on Western civilization known as the War on Terror. We need to protect ourselves and confront evil. He might not say it with the typical political platitudes or obfuscations of the “America-is-Bad politicians” like Biden, Jim Clyburn (D-SC), or Barrack Obama. But he speaks for the millions of Americans who see the genocidal goals that Hamas, Iran, and their principal benefactor, the CCP, have for the rest of the free world.
Another egregious effect of nurturing historical guilt is that it makes a person or a nation susceptible to political relativism. In the past twenty years since 9/11, unwitting apologists of the heresy of radical political Islam state the vast majority of Muslims are not terrorists, which is without debate true. But at the same time, it's not helpful.
There are over 50 Muslim countries, but very few of them denounce with any vehemence Hamas, Hezbollah, the Muslim Brotherhood, or other pretenders to true Islam. As a historical analogy, many good German Christians witnessed the rise of the National Socialist German Worker’s Party. But in the end, they didn’t make a damn’s worth of difference to millions of innocent people who perished because of Nazism.
As for myself, I have no idea of how many good Muslims there are. I imagine that most of them want to live their lives and prosper like the rest of us, whether here or in Germany. But none of this matters if the majority of the Muslims retain their loud silence when it comes to confronting their co-religious as they conduct their holy war, their Jihad, against all who don’t accept their murderous theology.
