Lethal Choreography: A Byproduct of Woke Part 2
By Patrick Hall
The rule of law which most of us socialized in basic civic behavior is a “reciprocal relationship”. This has been systemically undercut by the defiant comportment of many young black men, black elites like former United States Attorney General Eric Holder, many ESPN Sports analysts, and a host of unencumbered by reality liberal academics. They pay little for encouraging the false narrative, that the police are responsible for restoring respect for the law in an increasingly dysfunctional social fabric that percolates within the black underclass. From a micro-relational standpoint, many street-level police officers, who are charged with maintaining civil society, are reporting being met with recalcitrant behavior for even the slightest questioning of individuals, in neighborhoods where Barack Obama, neo-liberals, and suburban women wouldn’t be caught dead in. Mouthing off, acting like a self-centered, belligerent, uncivilized fool, and other pejorative behaviors, that now proceed everyday stops by police of blacks, are dangerously being encouraged by the Democratic Progressive polity to leverage the “political currency” surrounding such encounters. The Black Politicians, again mostly Democrats, are especially addicted to the malignant atmosphere created when a black suspect, stopped by law enforcement, turns into a Michael Brown or George Floyd situation. They become self-righteously giddy, if not capricious.
Let me be clear here. This does not negate the fact that historically there have been real problems and blatant abuse of blacks by law enforcement. But here is the point! “Historically,” we are not talking about the world of the 1930s,1940s, or 1950s which I and my eleven siblings grew up in. There is a world of difference between being deliberately mistreated by some law enforcement officials during these periods, and the Michael Brown or even the tragedy that engulfed the George Floyd incident. Are we to believe that there is some sort of Thomistic synthesis between someone who goes up to a policeman, and punches him in the face, while trying to grab the officer’s gun, and the injustices, that took place in Pre-Civil Rights America? The two cannot be conflated. Who in the hell teaches, or more pointedly, doesn’t teach their child, that if you try to engage with the police in such a manner, your butt will get shot! The latter is not an epiphany to my sons. The virulent soup that has been created in the past two decades is, what I fear the most for myself and my adult children. It has made normal reciprocity based on the rule of law anathema within a large segment of the Black community. It is part and parcel of the “embedded self-demolition” taking place within a large segment of the black community in Post Civil Rights America.
With the ubiquitous nature of social media and YouTube, Tik Tok, and Instagram justice provocateurs, the police have been constantly scrutinized by individuals and organizations, who filter everything through the “sociocultural algorithm” or prism of race. Slick, if not two-faced “Racism Industry Entrepreneurs” like Barack Obama, former Attorney General Eric Holder, Spike Lee, most ESPN Sports analysis, the Congressional Black Caucus, NAACP, and far too many Upper and Middle-Class blacks know that the biggest threat to black men isn’t the police, but black criminals.1
A Self-Demolition
As repeated in every statistic on black crime, Blacks make up approximately 13% of the population but commit felonies as well as misdemeanors at 7 to 10 times the rate of whites. Even more heartbreaking, in 2019 there were over 562,000 reported violent black/white incidents. However, 472,570 were black-on-white violence, or 84%. Let us repeat! Blacks make up only 13% of the United States population.
The cultural left or woke needs to understand a simple truth. You don’t need racism to explain the ongoing problems afflicting the black underclass. Nor is it compulsory to employ the redacted explanation dealing with the pernicious legacy of slavery. This latter explanation is often elucidated by the Civil Rights Industry and the secular evangelists that dominate academia. Decades of peer-reviewed quackery discharged by Black/African American Study Programs, Women/Gender Studies, Chicano Studies, Sociology, Criminology, and other merchants of identity politics, have done more to sidetrack any real dialog on a host of socio-economic and political issues that face the Nation. But then again, maybe that is the point of their mono-cognitive, if not reductionist interpretations of issues and events surrounding law enforcement within the Black community.
Many well-meaning Liberal Democrats have become a partner to what is simply a neo-segregationist philosophy. A dubious way of thinking, that is poisonous to social cohesion. It has become a psycho-cultural accessory, that many within the Democrat constituency can’t live without.
From an international perspective, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been particularly busy taking advantage of and fermenting racial division in the United States through its support of Black Lives Matter Global as well as indirect payments made to various polities in the Democratic Party making a living out of keeping “racism” alive. Members of the Chinese delegation who met with our feckless Secretary of State in Anchorage Alaska in 2021, let their strategy slip for exploiting race issues in the United States. The CCP delegation was quick to pound Secretary of State Antony Blinken with accusations surrounding the treatment of Blacks in the United States. Once again, the CCP and other nations, who hate the United States, are becoming very adept at adding fuel to our self-demolition.
To reiterate, what is more disturbing from a micro-analysis of police interaction with blacks is, that there exists not-too-subtle non-compliance on the part of young black men. They are tragically being taught to defy even the simplest request by law enforcement and blow it up into a situation that will invariably lead to a Michael Brown or George Floyd confrontation.
Given the political coinage, that is invested by the cultural left after every police shooting and/or Michael Brown incident, they hardly want this lethal choreography to recede. In short, if the issue of law enforcement and the black community is ever really mollified, it disappears as a fundraising or electoral tool.
Black Democrats like Maxine Watters (D-CA), Jim Clyburn (D-SC), and Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) would cease to be needed, since their main commodity or product, “the-perpetual-victimization-of-blacks-in-a-racist-America”, is taken off the table. The rampant lawlessness, which is an endemic feature in many black communities speaks to a larger problem, that has its genesis in the breakdown of the black family since the 1970s. This congenital social dislocation is characterized by the explosion of single-parent-headed households, welfare dependency, and the conspicuous absence of anything resembling responsible father figures. Subsequently, children are not taught, nor exposed to normative middle-class values. Of course, obeying the law and trying to improve your life and neighborhood are often labeled “acting white.” Regrettably, blacks from all social classes still invoke this peculiar secular doxology whenever possible. I imagine, being a cool, pants-down-on-your-ass, MF in jail, overrides being a responsible citizen, a good student, or a steward of one’s community.
