You’re also a guy?
By Patrick Hall
Transgender females, (i.e., biological men), shouldn’t be competing against biological females in sports. The corporate media and NPR/PBS have very selectively picked up a few stories, where a Transgender female (once again a biological male) has blown away the competition. This is despite the hormone blockers and other therapeutics these individuals have undergone as prescribed under NCAA rules. That is to say a transgender female (i.e., biological male) can compete with biological females if (they) supposedly follow a strict regimen of hormone treatments for a year before competing against a biological female competitor. In both individual and group sporting competitions, transgender females (or guys) have a clear “biological advantage” over their female opponents, because they are normally bigger, have the larger lung capacity, denser bone structure, and flat out stronger “on average” than women.
Of course, this doesn’t mean all biological females are at a disadvantage when competing with men. Julianna Pena, UFC Women’s Champion, could on any given day, beat the living crap out of me. I’m a 71year old guy. Even in my current YMCA boot camp and Cardio Fusion classes, younger 30 and 40-year-old women easily outpace me in most kinetic activities. That is reality! But then again, I’m a rapidly aging 71-year-old guy. So, there you go.
However, any of my sons could easily pulverize Julianna in a straight-up fight and they are not professional UFC fighters. Again, a big so what is in order. My sons are guys.
The Lia Thomas story, a transgender female swimmer at the University of Pennsylvania, who is currently smashing women’s swim records, is the most visible example of these differences between men and women. Before Lia transitioned into a transgender female, her ranking was 640th when competing as a male. Lia quickly ascended to a number 1 ranking competing as a transgender female.
Lia might “emotionally/psychology” “feel” that she is a woman. Also with some reservations, I do not argue with the more elusive or discarnate nomenclature of the transgender movement.1 But that does not change the fact that Lia Thomas’ biology, no matter how many suppressants Lia undergoes, is structurally a guy. This fact alone provides a transgender female, a significant advantage over most females in hyper-competitive athletic competitions such as swimming or track and field. Seconds are often the difference between winners and losers. Lia Thomas annihilated her biological female competitors by over 38 seconds in one event. That is completely unheard of in aquatic competitions.
There have been over 1700 incidents nationwide of transgender female athletics destroying their female opponents. The corporate media, NPR/PBS, and social media either deliberately or via omission downplay the intrinsic unfairness to top-flight female athletes. They have worked and practiced countless hours on their given sport, only to be rolled by a transgender female.
Where’s Megan????
But here is the 800-pound gorilla in the room. Where in hell are all the feminists like Megan Rapinoe on this issue. Of course, we all know that it was inevitable, that one progressive secular dogma would clash with other sacrosanct beliefs in their cultural-political pantheon. But shouldn’t they be speaking out against this egregious usurpation in women’s sports?
Gender feminists, which I distinguish from traditional feminists, who fought for equal rights and opportunities for women, are somewhat muted.2 Transgender females and their misguided supporters are single-handedly negating the hard-fought job of equality and funding of women’s sports which was a hallmark of 1970s Title IX legislation. There are many great women athletes in all sports areas. But as pointed out by one prominent sports broadcaster, a good boys varsity high school basketball team could probably beat, if not stay on the court with any of the teams in the WNBA. Once more, this is hardly surprising. Guys play anywhere from a foot to 3 feet higher than many Pro Women basketball players. In addition, the majority of guys in their late teens are physically stronger, quicker, and faster than even the most athletic female. Conversely, the worst team in the NBA or even in its development league would annihilate any boys’ high school team. The same would be true in most competitive sports. The U.S. men’s Soccer Team, (despite always pooping themselves in world play) would easily destroy the world-renowned US women’s soccer team, regardless of the superb athletics abilities of a Megan Rapinoe. This isn’t rocket science. Men are on average bigger, stronger, and faster, than most women. To phrase this another way for the benefit of NPR-BBC-Corporate Media sectarians, men are on average bigger, stronger, and faster, than your average birthing person or Chest-feeder.
